We are always looking for people to join our group of Volunteers staffing the Museum, helping to share the rich history of Dereham. No specialist knowledge is required as full training will be provided, all we need is your enthusiasm!
Museum Stewards
Joining our friendly team as a Museum Steward, you’ll help to open and/or close the Museum (depending on your shift), welcome visitors to the Museum, take admission payments and donations and generally be on hand to help visitors if needed.
The Museum is open every Friday (10am-1pm) and Saturday (10am-4pm) from the beginning of May to the end of September and sessions are split into three hours. It’s up to you how much time you’d like to commit – even if it’s just three hours a month!
FAQs:
- Volunteers must be over the age of 16 at the time of joining – there is no upper age limit!
- There are three, three-hour sessions per week: Friday morning (10am-1pm), Saturday morning (10am-1pm) and Saturday afternoon (1pm-4pm). It’s up to you which sessions you’d prefer.
- Should you wish, there will be the option to volunteer at additional Museum events as the season progresses.
